Some may have noticed comments left by Scu on a number of the usual blogs in recent weeks. I highly recommend reading Scu’s blog, Critical Animal, especially if you are interested in the intersection of social/political theory/philosophy and animal studies (including, of course, Agamben, Arendt, Foucault, Haraway, etc). He (and here I assume based upon writing style) is a doctoral student in the Philosophy, Interpretation and Culture Program at SUNY-Binghamton.
Also: an interview with Gary Francione on his book Animals as Persons – and another sale at Columbia UP, this time for their animal studies catalogue including Matthew Calarco’s new book, Zoographies, the aforementioned book by Francione, and what looks to be quite interesting, Philosophy and Animal Life, by Cavell, Diamond, McDowell, Hacking and Wolfe.

Thank you so much for the kind shout out.
Also, in particular, thanks for the info about the Columbia sale. Though I totally just spent about fifty dollars I don’t have.
