We resumed watching “Battlestar Galactica” this weekend and should likely finish season 2.0 (i.e., the first half of the second season) on DVD within the week. Consequently, we didn’t watch many movies this weekend. Indeed, we only watched one movie and I wonder how well that time was spent:
The Sentinel – Has that guy from “24″ doing what I expect he more or less does in “24.” Also had the cool pastor from Saved and it had that old guy who looks like a (kind of) walking corpse. The plot was unnecessarily complex. It wasn’t clear why they wanted to kill the President and why they chose the fall guy they chose (i.e., the walking corpse). It wasn’t clear why the mole was the mole – what was the relationship between the IRA and the KGB that required the mole to turn traitor? Why was an IRA member in the Secret Service in the first place? A lot of running and not much else.
I also watched the first twenty minutes of the most recent James Bond movie at my parents’ place. I didn’t finish the movie on account of being bored and left. No idea whether they finished it or not – I hope they didn’t. I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure the chase scene at the start was possibly the most racist chase scene I’ve ever seen in a movie. That dark-skinned African moved like an ape! Ridiculous.

“dark-skinned African moved like an ape!”
Sébastien Foucan, one of the founders of ‘free running’, kind of like an aesthetic SI derive but on speed.
That would have been helpful before “seeing” the movie!
