I’ll second it. I have great affection for Derrida and Levinas, but PLL more than stands on his own, and should be treated accordingly.

could people refrain from posting the obligatory passages from Derrida and Levinas? Rather than mute repetition of the standard passages, how about a discussion of his work That probably suggests they haven't read much, if any, of his work. And much as I think it's good that people who had not previously will now be encouraged to do so, surely one is not required to die to be read, or read with seriousness. And it's remarkable how little there is of L-L's that's accessible via the net, and what there is, isn't in English. A 2006 lecture of his, though in French (.ram).
